We're Nuts!

So we've recently acquired an office space and are having an Information Technology blowout! We've always offered inexpensive websites, SEO services, and computer repairs, but we're going insane even by our standards! We are now going down to $150 for SEO services, which includes five 200-300 word blog posts every week, as well as a tweet everyday, two Facebook updates a day and one update to your website a week! Even if that wasn't enough to put us into an asylum, we're also doing $6 an hour for computer repairs and networking labor, and you just pay that and parts!

Everyone is welcome to try this on for size! On top of all this, if we can guide you through fixing your computer over the phone or online, IT'S FREE! We will not overprice nor provide poor customer service. This deal is good for the whole month of September and all we ask in return is you tell everyone you know! Even if you get us a referral in two months, you can still bring up that offer! Just make sure the referral came in to our office and mentioned your name.

SEO tricks that are proven to work!

First and foremost, we actually suggest that SEO be done by professional companies, mainly because they have the time to spare as well as the manpower, experience and knowledge needed. We know that it can be expensive, but it doesn't need to be with services starting at $100 a month! Now that we have just shown you one trick in action let's explain what we just did as well as a few others.

Blogs

These are insanely big for search engines, crawlers and the like. They want to see new content every couple of days, so we suggest using Blogger. Specific things happen when you use Blogger versus hosting your own blog. First, it's automatically updated with Google, the biggest search engine. You want that badly, you just don't know. It might take a week or two to pop up in searches, but it will. The biggest thing you need to do is update it every week at least. Just now the more the better, not repeating articles though, but original content, which is why companies or other people are good for this. It's time consuming. Not to mention  you can put a link in there back to your site for every blog post you put in.

HTML Tricks

There is one HTML trick that really boosts you up in search engines. It's basically replacing a header tag with an image, but still telling the robots that it's extremely important to the website you have. Remember, being nice to the crawlers is really SEO work. So instead of <h1>This is important!</h1> on your website, it goes something like this:

< h1>
      <(link to your homepage)>
            <(your image HTML code AND alt attribute)>
     </a>
</h1>

Yes this one take a little more experience in coding and things like that, which yet again is why you need another company or knowledgeable person to do this for you. This is a extremely great trick for your website to get kudos from web crawlers.

Well that's it for today, hope it helped and that you liked it. Tomorrow, we will be posting about hosting company comparisons and which is the king of hosting!

Short-URLs and your business

Short-URLs

What purpose do they serve? Well, for starters, it's better than a whole long URL to one file. People tend to see big long links and either forget it while typing it in, or get scared by them. So there was a problem that short-URLs filled! you can use several free ones, some have ads before you reach the target file, others like this one, don't have ads and just require that you put their little banner somewhere on the page. You can even sign up for a Dropbox account, upload to the Public folder, then share a short-URL! It's pretty common nowadays to actually see shorten-URLs, so why aren't people using them like there going out of style?
Well I think there's one simple answer to this, and it's just that people don't know of free ones! In our last blog post, we actually used a short-URL for the e-book download.

Use Caution when using Short-URLs

If you use a short-URL as a back link to your site, trying to do some SEO for your site, it WILL backfire. Google and Bing will penalize you for this mainly because it will appear as cloaking. Cloaking is basically what it sounds like, hiding your true website from robots and web crawlers. Google and Bing actually use crawlers to index the known internet, but will only go where told it's okay. Through my experiences with short-URLs, they usually have ads and don't specifically tell the crawlers to continue to wherever you linked to.

Well that's our new blog post people, sorry it took so long to update the blog and deliver what we said we would the next day. Tomorrow for certain we will actually go over some seriously awesome SEO tricks that are 100% safe to use!
